Städtische Galerie Neukirchen
The Städtische Galerie Neunkirchen is sponsored by the Neunkircher Kulturgesellschaft gGmbH and has been running a cross-media exhibition program for contemporary art since 1991.
The Städtische Galerie Neukirchen's programme with four to six changing exhibitions a year is based on the broad spectrum of current international art trends. Artists from all parts of Germany, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Denmark, Great Britain, Russia, Poland, Iran and South Korea were presented in the past few years. But the Städtische Galerie Neunkirchen also sees itself as a forum for artists from the region.
In solo and themed exhibitions, it presents both young and established artistic positions with the aim of providing insights into the stylistic, thematic and media diversity of contemporary art.
In December 2015 the Städtische Galerie Neunkirchen opened in the former community center, which has become “KULT“. Kulturzentrum Neunkirchen has been rebuilt, its new exhibition rooms. With around 500 square meters, the usable area of the gallery has now more than doubled compared to the previous rooms in the neighboring old building. The seven-meter-high main room not only creates ideal conditions for attractive temporary exhibitions of current art of all formats. In addition to the temporary exhibitions, the glazed gallery offers the possibility of showing excerpts from the "Wolfgang Kermer donation" as a permanent presentation.
