Hilde Vandaele Gallery

Hilde Vandaele Gallery was founded in 2017 and presents a carefully curated exhibition programme throughout the year, with a focus on contemporary visual art. The gallery brings together Belgian and international artists, with attention to different generations, diverse artistic practices and approaches.

The exhibition programme is guided by a clear artistic vision, in which the presentation of the artwork and its spatial context are closely interconnected. Architecture, light and the surrounding environment are approached not merely as a backdrop, but as elements that help shape the way in which a work is perceived and interpreted.

The decision to establish the gallery in Watou (BE), with its rural setting and distinctive identity as an arts village, closely reflects this vision. The distinctive architecture of the pavilion and its direct relationship with the surrounding landscape provide a context in which the relationship between artworks and space can be explored anew with each exhibition. Every exhibition is developed from this spatial and conceptual perspective, with attention to the relationships between the works themselves and to the dialogue between art, architecture, light and the surrounding environment.

Hilde Vandaele Gallery maintains long-term collaborations with Belgian and international artists, galleries and curators.
