Founded in 2016, by Vincent Goutal, a former student of ENS Ulm and Olivia Goutal, Goutal Gallery presents and encourages contemporary creation. Originally specialized in staging photography and favouring a poetic universe, it represents internationally renowned photographers such as Ole Marius Joergensen (Norway), Formento & Formento (USA), Erik Hijweege (Netherlands) and defends young creation with Pierre Vogel, Geert de Taeye (Belgium), Pierre Ollier. Since 2019, it has expanded into other artistic fields echoing its photographic universe, including paper sculptor Matt Shlian (USA), painter Prisca Temporal, and Canadian draughtsman and sculptor Sébastien Gaudette. The gallery is also known for supporting artists who work around the theme of paper with Ya Ké Shang (France), Pierre Vogel (Marseille), Sébastien Gaudette. Maintaining a trusting relationship with its artists over the long term, the gallery continually broadens its reach by participating in exhibitions and artistic events (Musée Regard de Provence, MIA Milan, Confrontations Photo, Biennale de l'Image Tangible Paris). Located in the Mazarin district of Aix-en-Provence, the Goutal Gallery is part of the artistic journey of the PACA region by regularly participating in the Nuit des Galeries d'Aix-en-Provence since 2017. In 2022, the gallery took part in the first Biennale d'Art et de Culture in Aix-en-Provence. With a space of more than 100sqm, it establishes a dialogue around the works, giving priority to the friendliness with visitors. Since 2021, the gallery has been working with Necker Hospital with two of its artists Calixte d'Annunzio and Ya Ké Shang to contribute to the well-being of hospital children. Goutal Gallery is a member of the Professional Committee of Art Galleries.
