Galerie Lazarew is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2011 in the Marais district of Paris by Alexandre Lazarew and Laura de Pontcharra. Rather than adhering to overly restrictive guidelines, we have always preferred to be guided by intuition in selecting artists who consistently explore new possibilities with dedication and sincerity. While we have always championed painting (Sergey Kononov, Félix Deschamps Mak, Guillaume Toumanian, etc.), we have a particular sensitivity for artists who use unexpected materials to forge their own path (Pierre Daquin, Nasreddine Bennacer, Aharon Gluska, etc.). We claim to be eclectic, inspired by a desire to defend artists who are physically involved in their work, who value a gesture and even – let's not be afraid to say it – a certain savoir-faire. Finally, desire is at the heart of our vocation. Driven by a sincere love and admiration for our artists, but also by the need to feel fully in tune with our choices, we have been navigating for nearly 15 years, guided by the compass most dear to our souls: freedom.
