Safe Crash is a collaboration between Luxembourgish artists Vanessa Brown, Jil Lahr, Nika Schmitt, and curator Nadina Faljic. As a collective, Safe Crash creates objects and environments that embody ideas of hybridity, concealment, and festivity. A space where one logic hides another.
The project is based on Lahr’s installation Inherent Vagueness, which first appears as a Night Shop, but doubles as a hidden space for socializing. Among the plastic cups, fruit boxes, and other installation objects, visitors encounter steel and glass works by Brown, as well as wearable artworks by Schmitt.
Artist studios are famous for being places of production, community, collaboration, and socializing. While artworks will be available for sale, Safe Crash will bring the atmosphere of the artists’ studio into the fair. Operating as both an exhibition space and gathering point, it will serve as a venue for artistic expression and a covert bar.
Safe Crash is made possible with the support of the Spuerkeess Foundation, under the aegis of Fondation de Luxembourg.
