The Danysz gallery is above all a platform for the promotion and support of contemporary artists, a place of meeting and dialogue between artists, art lovers and collectors. Founded in Paris in 1991 by Magda Danysz, the gallery has grown steadily since its beginnings in Paris, establishing itself in Shanghai, then in London, and over the years becoming an international player in the world of contemporary art. A flourishing and successful trajectory, among which collaborations with many talented artists, participations in important fairs, joint projects with world-renowned institutions such as the Power Stytion of Art in Shanghai, ke CAFA Art Museum in Beijing, the National Museum of Asian Arts Guimet in Paris, or the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg. Defending with tenacity and conviction an open vision of contemporary art in which artists of extremely diverse practice can coexist, the gallery has long supported artists from both urban art and artistic personalities in the fields of photography, sculpture and new media, offering the public a rich and varied perspective on contemporary creation. In addition, the gallery's commitment also goes unswervingly, beyond the international artists it represents, to young and emerging artists. Supporting an artist goes beyond the mere fact of presenting his work within the walls of the gallery. This is why we are committed to carrying out ambitious projects and parallel programming, whether it is to accompany and support the production of works of art in the public space or to initiate exhibitions and major events, in collaboration with museums and international foundations. Art is all about exploration. It is in this spirit that Magda Danysz decided to settle in Shanghai in 2009, with a new exhibition space in the Bund district, Galerie Danysz was then one of the first international galleries to open an address in this city. Since then, the gallery has been actively involved in developments in the Chinese artistic scene, and has given itself a new mission: to bring its voice to the dialogue, more enriching than ever, between East and West.
