Esch-sur-Alzette, located in the south of the country and the second largest city in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is European Capital of Culture in 2022. The opening of Konschthal Esch sends a strong signal for a space of cultural diversity in the region that shares borders with France, Belgium and Germany.
Konschthal is a production and exhibition platform for contemporary visual arts. It hosts both international contributions and local productions while simultaneously proposing a venue for sociocultural exchange in resonance with current issues and their repercussions in today’s art world. Over the coming months, Konschthal will programme a whole series of exhibitions exploring a central theme: transformation. With a succession of major exhibitions and a framework programme, Konschthal explores the multiple forms of contemporary art. Konschthal is a space that is open to all.
Konschthal Esch is an official cultural institution of the city of Esch-sur-Alzette.
