The European Academy of Art Trier (Germany) pursues the goal of continuous, con- temporary development. In doing so, it follows the principle of its founder, Professor Erich Kraemer, to realise „art through knowledge“ and to convey this to all those interested in art. The Academy is a place of international artistic encounter. Beyond the creative process, background information from the history of art is conveyed and seeing as intensive perception is promoted. In this way, art is made tangible as an experience and, beyond the creative process, understanding and sensitivity for fine art are deepened.
The European Academy of Art Trier offers ideal working conditions in eighteen spacious, bright studios and workshops. From January to December, it offers a wide-ranging, practically oriented programme for beginners as well as advanced students.
The programme offers professional further education, portfolio preparation for university applicants, intensive study courses as well as a variety of courses for those interested in design. An art study course lasting several semesters complements the training on offer. All artistic techniques (painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography) are taught in a variable course system.
With over sixty experienced teachers from Germany and abroad and around 200 courses a year, the Academy offers a varied programme. This makes it the largest independent art academy in Germany. In addition to teaching, the creative atmosphere, the meeting of artists, exhibitions, art talks with lecturers, art history lectures, concerts, etc. are important components of the academy.
