Whispers of a Grand Cru Terroir – A Portrait of Those Who Live by Its Rhythm
An exhibition by Lucas Lehmann for Dix Hectares, in collaboration with Château Montrose, at Villa Pétrusse.
For Dix Hectares, Lucas Lehmann turns his lens towards the cultivation of the land and the gestures that accompany it. His photographic series explores the relationship between humankind and the living world, in its most tangible, patient and essential forms.
Villa Pétrusse hosts this exhibition within its historic casemates. During the visit, the photographs offer a window into a unique estate: Saint-Estèphe, in the heart of the Médoc, where Château Montrose, a Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) in the 1855 Classification, gave rise to the skincare house Dix Hectares. A wine tasting and an introduction to the skincare collection will extend the experience.
LUCAS LEHMANN
Originally from eastern France, Lucas Lehmann discovered visual creation through graphic design and video before turning to photography. Based in Paris, he now develops his work through collaborations with individuals, brands and projects that share his visual sensibility.
His photography draws inspiration from simple gestures, everyday life and the human experience. Moving between warm colours and black and white, his visual language is shaped by a search for authenticity, with particular attention to textures, human presence and detail.
DIX HECTARES
Dix Hectares is a French skincare house born at the heart of the Château Montrose estate. Guided by the principles of regenerative agriculture, it cultivates its own botanical ingredients and oversees every stage of their transformation, from field to skin.
At the heart of this approach lies the land: living soil, cultivated in harmony with the seasons, whose richness nourishes the plants and determines the quality of the active ingredients extracted from them. Observing, preserving and regenerating this ecosystem requires precise, patient and often invisible gestures.
It is this work with the land, and the people who bring it to life, that Dix Hectares invited photographer Lucas Lehmann to observe. Through his lens, he reveals an intimate relationship with the living world, where caring for the soil is the first step in a chain that connects the earth to the skin.
