This discussion highlights the new voices poised to shape the regional cultural scene in the years to come. Five women recently appointed to lead cultural institutions in the Grand Est region, in Saarland, and in Luxembourg will share their reflections on the challenges of stepping into new roles: navigating complex organizational dynamics in new territories, and balancing inherited programming with the development of new exhibitions. An exceptional panel offering unique perspectives on the future of the region’s cultural landscape.


Biographies :

Tania Brugnoni (born 1975) has been the director of the Musée national d'archéologie, d'histoire et d'art since 1 January 2025. A graduate in art restoration and conservation, she also holds a specialist certificate in the history of decorative arts, museum studies and the art market. With 17 years of experience as an independent conservator, she has also worked as a cultural coordinator for the City of Differdange. From 2013 to 2024, she served as director of the 1535° Creative Hub where she played a key role in its development, actively contributing to its success story in the field of creative economy innovation. 

Patricia Couvet (born 1994) has been Director of the art center La synagogue de Delme since June 2025. She develops projects at the intersection of the humanities and curatorial practices, spanning exhibitions, public programs, and publications. From 2021 to 2024, she co-directed Pickle Bar, a space dedicated to performative and discursive formats, as well as the residency-mentorship program of the collective Slavs and Tatars in Berlin (DE). In 2025, she was awarded the TextWork writing grant from the Pernod Ricard Foundation. She holds degrees in History and Cultural Heritage Management (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) and in Curatorial Studies (KASK – School of Arts and Conservatory of Ghent).

Lisa Felicitas Mattheis (born 1985) is a German art historian and museum director. Since May 2025, she has been board member of Stiftung Saarländischer Kulturbesitz as well as director of the Saarlandmuseum and the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte. After studying art history, media studies, and business administration in Trier and Madrid, she initially worked at the Kunsthalle Mannheim, the Sprengel Museum Hannover, and the Kunsthalle Emden, most recently as artistic director and board member of the Stiftung Henri und Eske Nannen und Schenkung Otto van de Loo.

Florence Ostende (born 1983) is Head of the Artistic Department at Mudam Luxembourg. Previously Curator at Barbican, London, she organized exhibitions including Carrie Mae Weems: Reflections for Now (2023), Noguchi (2021), Michael Clark: Cosmic Dancer (2020), and Francis Alÿs: Ricochets (2024).. She also curated Ugo Rondinone: I Love John Giorno (2015) and Dioramas (2016) at Palais de Tokyo, Paris, and held roles at Dallas Contemporary and HEAD Geneva.
