in collaboration with Konschthal Esch (EN & FR)

LocationKonschthal Esch
Language : English & French (Simultaneous translation into English and French)

Guest speakers:
Vera Kox (Artist)
Lisa Robertson (Poet, essayist, novelist)
Moderator: Charlotte Masse (Curator, Head of Exhibitions Konschthal Esch)

In her sculptural work, Vera Kox explores the interconnection between the environment, human, and non-human life forms. She examines the multifaceted properties of various materials and often combines handcrafted ceramic elements with industrially produced semi-finished products, which in her installations merge into a cohesive whole as fossilized hybrids of our modern civilization.

As part of the exhibition, the Konschthal is inviting you to a conversation between the artist Vera Kox with Lisa Robertson, author of the text for her new monograph and Charlotte Masse, co-curator of the exhibition, at the Konschthal.

Lisa Robertson is a Canadian poet, essayist and novelist whose work, since the 1990s in Vancouver, has developed in community and discourse with artists and their practices. Her most recent books include Anemones: A Simone Weil Project (If I Can't Dance, Amsterdam), the novel The Baudelaire Fractal (Coach House, Toronto; Peninsula, London), translated to Swedish (OEI, Stockholm) and French (Le Quartanier, Montreal), and the poetry collection Boat (Coach House). She was the recipient of the 2018 CD Wright Award in Poetry from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts in New York, and an Honorary Doctorate from Emily Carr University of the Arts in Vancouver. A second novel, Riverwork, is forthcoming.
