Studio Biskt, Balik Arches

Sculpture Trail

Situated between craftsmanship and industry, Studio BISKT's production explores possibilities through design and ceramics, mediums respectively mastered by Charlotte and Martin. The project is an ongoing experiment, with the studio's output oscillating between art and design. Intuition serves as the guiding principle in a prototyping process that leans more toward an artistic approach than an industrial one. Their entire production is based on clay extrusion, a process borrowed from industry, thereby merging Charlotte's and Martin's skills. When ceramics meet design, when art meets industry…

Charlotte was born in 1989 in Paris. She studied ceramics at ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels, where she obtained her Master's degree in 2015. Mainly influenced by the city, Charlotte questions the impact of private and public spaces, urban architecture, and the organization of streets. After gaining various professional experiences, she co-founded Studio BISKT in 2018. Martin was born in 1990 in Belgium. In 2008, he joined the industrial design department at ENSAV La Cambre, where he earned his Master's degree five years later. Obsessed with processes, Martin focuses heavily on the convergence between industry and craftsmanship. Already a co-founder of Mekanika, an open-source platform providing tools and machine kits, he co-founded Studio BISKT in the same year, 2018.
