Luxembourg, at the heart of Europe, serves as a living laboratory for vibrant multilingualism. The richness and challenge of linguistic diversity, symbolized since the Bible by the story of the Tower of Babel, is at the forefront of exploration.
"Babel Heureuse ?" examines polyglossia and translation through a historical and philosophical lens that extends beyond Luxembourg. Featuring a rare collection of masterpieces, objects, and documents—both exceptional and everyday—the exhibition journeys through representations of Babel and highlights the successes and challenges of translation, from the Rosetta Stone to artificial intelligence. It questions the conditions for achieving a "happy Babel" (Roland Barthes) across space and time, reaching into our present day.
