Sobering Galerie

Sobering is a Parisian gallery founded by Patricia Kishishian and Jean-Claude Ghenassia, with the intention of championing a rigorous and sensitive approach to contemporary art. Our curatorial vision is built around two main directions:

• Memory and collective narratives: we privilege artists who question the ways in which images—cinematic, domestic, cultural—nourish our emotions and shape our imaginations.
• Dialogue between disciplines and generations: we present pictorial practices that resonate with the great movements of art history while asserting a strong sense of contemporaneity.
