Galerie de l'Est - Darya Brient

Founded in 2017 in Compiègne by Darya Brient, Galerie de l'Est was originally established as a platform dedicated to the contemporary art scene of Eastern Europe. Over time, the gallery has broadened its scope to include Western artists as well, while remaining committed to strong representation of women artists and art with a feminine perspective. 

With a dynamic program, the gallery organizes around six exhibitions per year, along with various off-site events. More than just an exhibition space, Galerie de l'Est serves as a place for exchange, dialogue, and reflection on major contemporary themes: sociocultural, political, and environmental issues; intergenerational relationships; memory; and explorations of material and the creative process. 

The gallery also offers residency opportunities for artists without a studio in France, helping to support their integration into both the French and international art scenes.
