Open House Day at nëimenster

13:00 - 19:00
neimënster and European Investment Bank

In celebration of the 10th edition of Luxembourg Art Week, neimënster invites you to an exceptional open house on Saturday, 23 November 2024, from 13:00 to 19:00! This is a unique opportunity to meet the resident artists of the Artists Development Programme (ADP) at the Art Institute of the EIB and to immerse yourself in the captivating photographic universe of the exhibition All of Me, All of You.

As the EIB Group’s flagship Arts & Culture initiative, the Artists Development Programme (ADP) echoes the EIB’s investment in Europe’s knowledge economy and amplifies its efforts to support innovation by offering the next generation of European artists the opportunity to develop their practice in a high-quality professional setting, under the mentorship of an internationally-acclaimed artist.

More than just a residency scheme, the ADP also serves as a living laboratory for examining the most pressing issues of today – climate change, global economies, migration, diversity, the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine – through the lens of art. Works acquired from ADP artists after their residency have greatly enriched the EIB art collection; and the socio-political commentary they often contain sparks reflection and discussions on many of the EIB’s values and strategic priorities.

As Europe’s premier accelerator for emerging artistic talent, the ADP has propelled the careers of artists who have gone on to exhibit at some of the world’s most prestigious arts institutions (such as Tate Britain), and receive recognition from the art world’s most renowned prizes and events (such as the Turner Prize nomination and the Venice Biennale).

To date, the ADP has supported 44 artists who went on to create 64 bodies of work, 52 of which joined the EIB collection. The 2024 edition, held jointly between the Cité internationale des arts in Paris and neimënster in Luxembourg, has five laureates: Gilad Ashery and Alessandro Di Lorenzo (for the thematic call Disruption: The Imprint of Man), Maxine Weiss (for the thematic call The Future of Water), Maria Trabulo (for the geographic call targeting artists from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Finland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Slovakia) and Yulia Protsyshyn (geographic call targeting artists from Ukraine). The laureates are mentored by the Franco-Italian artist Tatiana Trouvé as well as art critic and theorist Christoph Kihm.
