Monty Richthofen (b. Munich, 1995), also known as Maison Hefner, studied Performance Practice and Design at Central Saint Martins University of the Arts in London. Since graduating in 2018, he has intensively challenged conventional poetry by visualizing text through painting and writing in public spaces and tattooing. He currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

The bold text FULL MOUTHS / EMPTY WORDS, spanning the lightboxes, offers a critical reflection on societal dynamics. It challenges pedestrians to reflect on Leerstand — the German term for vacant or unused spaces — and how this concept relates to power imbalances within the city. The work encourages viewers to think about how urban spaces are allocated, asking whether such spaces are being used in ways that truly benefit the community. The artwork invites the viewer to rethink what kind of spaces are truly necessary and what roles these spaces should play in shaping more equitable, inclusive urban environments.
