Artists are questioning a visual enigma, exploring reality and fiction, unreal and fantastic through a new poetry, where time is suspended, and questions are risen to stimulate our perception.
Ken’ichito Taniguchi (1976, Japan) – Eva Steynen Gallery – is interested in giving a visible form to the boundary between humans and nature, he transforms the two-dimensional shapes of the urban environment in three-dimensional PVC sculpture that represents new metaphorical creatures of the cracks and damages areas created by natural forces on man-made surfaces.
Different levels of interpretation with a strong connection to the historical roots of humanity can be found in Marion Verboom 's totemic sculptures (1983, France) - Galerie Lelong & Co. Works composed of different materials overlaid on modular layout: from musical instruments to mechanical objects and anthropomorphic forms that stimulate our curiosity to investigate the origin and the meaning of contemporary totems.
Different visual narratives and dynamic volumes are again sought in Elise Peroi's works (1990, France) – GALERIE MARIA LUND. She invents silk compositions created by an interplay between painting and weaving, depicting a delicate layout of full and empty traces as a way of exploring the boundaries between space and reality.
Katja Davar (1968, UK) – Bernhard Knaus Fine Art – experiments a combination of techniques, integrating drawing and animation, more specifically using drawing projections and animated films. She focuses her research on tracing connections between the past and the present, building a strong relationship between new technologies, nature and society.
Brett Ginsburg (1990, USA) – Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler – is interested in exploring the different layers an image can produce, in his technique he uses machines, microscopes, scanners, simulation technologies to translate the complexity of his subjects. Ginsburg’s aim is to disrupt a linear perception of the reality in order to suggest multiple possible visions suspended in a new temporality.
